// Introduction

I've wanted to start this blog for several months and ended up just leaving it blank. But y'know, even through my inactivity and procrastination I've learned a lesson... I wanted this blog to be "perfect" and I (finally) realized that if I were to wait for the perfect post topic, well, I'll be waiting a loooong time. Perfect doesn't exist (aside from God of course.) Which brings me to my next point...

I want my life (and this blog as a branch of my life) to honor Him and what He has done for me.

       God, the Creator of the universe, out of love for us sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to come to earth, live a perfect, sinless, life, die on the cruel cross of Calvary, and conquer death by rising again three days later. (John 3:16I Corinthians15:4Romans 5:8)

     //Why do we need a savior?//  The Bible says in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." God is holy (sinless perfection) and demands holiness (I Peter 1:16) but we cannot attain holiness on earth because of the sin nature passed down to us from the fall of Adam and Eve.

      //What is sin?//  The most common of the laws are known as the Ten Commandments. (Found in Exodus 20) Put simply, sin is anything we think, say, or do that breaks God's law. God's law is found in His Word, the Holy Bible.

      //But I'm a good person!!//   James 2:10 says, "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." (Romans 3:10) If you've ever stolen, lied, cheated, or lusted you are a sinner and not worthy to enter into Heaven. In fact, without Christ you are bound for the lake of fire. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death..."

     //So, how can I know for sure I'm going to heaven?//  I'm glad you asked! There is a second part to that last verse (Romans 6:23) that says, "...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." It's a gift! He came and took our sin upon himself so that we could fellowship with Him in Heaven for all eternity! Not only does He desire that, but He is waiting for it. FOR YOU. "Behold I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (Romans 3:20)

       The best news of all is that He only gives one requirement of you. Believe. (Though there is more to this word than many think. Believe is a strong word and requires much more than simple knowledge about something.) Romans 10:9 states, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." and Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

      //But my sins are far too many and horrible for Him to forgive me.//  No, that is a lie from Satan. The Bible says "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)

Once you ask Jesus to forgive your sin and live in your heart as your personal Lord and Savior He promises He will never leave you. (Hebrews 13:5bRomans 8:1Romans 8 38-39)
And he desires for us to grow closer to Him. (I like to use an acronym G.R.O.W.)
- Go to Church
- Read your Bible and Pray daily
- Obey your authorities in the Lord. Obey what you read in the Bible.
- Witness to others by telling others about Christ.

As I said, I am far from perfect, but through His grace I will strive to give him glory in all that I say and do (as imperfect as that is.) Thus begins my web log.

Blessings,

Hannah
